Custom and modified container solutions

Doors, windows, power, insulation, plumbing and colour, quoted together with the unit and its delivery.

Containers built to your brief

A standard container or portable building suits most needs, but some sites call for something specific: a workshop with power and lighting, a site office with a partitioned meeting room, a storage unit with shelving and a personnel door, or amenities for a remote camp. AAD Logistics PTY modifies new containers and portable buildings to a customer’s specification, quoted in writing and delivered Australia-wide.

What can be modified

Modifications are carried out on new units so that the finished product carries our full 18-month warranty. The most common options are:

  • Personnel doors for everyday access without opening the cargo doors.
  • Windows, fixed or opening, with security mesh where required.
  • Electrical fit-out including power points, switchboard and external connection.
  • Lighting, internal and external.
  • Insulation to walls and ceiling for temperature control and condensation management.
  • Air conditioning sized for the unit.
  • Shelving and racking for storage and workshop layouts.
  • Lockbox for padlock protection on cargo doors.
  • Flooring including vinyl, sealed ply or non-slip finishes.
  • Internal lining for a clean, finished interior.
  • Partitions to divide the unit into rooms or zones.
  • Plumbing, including connections for toilets, showers, basins and kitchens.
  • Toilets and showers for ablution, crib and cabin fit-outs.
  • Custom colour in a RAL shade of your choice.

If what you need is not listed, ask. Many requests combine several of these options, and we will tell you plainly if something is not practical.

How the process works

  1. Quote. Send us your brief through the request a quote drawer or by email. Our sales team reviews it, asks any clarifying questions and issues a formal quotation covering the base unit, the modifications, delivery and GST.
  2. Design confirmation. We confirm the layout, door and window positions, electrical points and finishes with you in writing before anything is built. This is the point to make changes.
  3. Deposit as quoted. Once the design is confirmed, a deposit is payable as set out on the quotation, by bank transfer or card against a tax invoice. Work begins when accounting confirms the payment.
  4. Build. The unit is modified to the confirmed design. We keep you informed of progress and let you know if any detail needs a decision.
  5. Delivery. When the build is complete and the balance is paid as quoted, we coordinate delivery to your site using the equipment best suited to the unit and access.

Typical applications

  • Site offices with lining, insulation, air conditioning, power and a partitioned meeting space.
  • Workshops with lighting, power points, shelving, a personnel door and non-slip flooring.
  • Storage with shelving, lockbox and a personnel door for frequent access.
  • Farm buildings for equipment, chemicals, feed or a secure lockable shed.
  • Mining camp amenities including ablution blocks, crib rooms and offices designed for remote sites.
  • Events such as ticket offices, bars, pop-up retail and first aid rooms built on open side units.

What to send us

The more we know at the start, the more accurate the quotation. Helpful items include:

  • A sketch of the layout, even a rough one, showing where doors, windows, partitions and services should go.
  • Photos of the site and any existing buildings the unit needs to match or connect to.
  • Dimensions that matter to you, such as clear internal width, bench height or the size of equipment that must fit inside.
  • The delivery address and a note on site access, so that delivery can be quoted at the same time.
  • Any council, site or safety requirements you are aware of.

Lead time

Custom work does not follow the standard 1 to 3 business day processing timeline. The lead time for each project depends on the scope of the modifications and is confirmed on your quotation. Delivery is then scheduled once the build is complete.
