Shipping containers for Brisbane, straight from the port
AAD Logistics PTY is based at 4 Milton Cct, Port Macquarie NSW 2444, and Brisbane is one of the busiest destinations on our delivery run. Containers that arrive at the port are prepared at our depot and leave for your address without passing through a second yard. That matters if you want to inspect a unit before you commit: inspections are by appointment during business hours, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm.
We supply new shipping containers in a choice of RAL colours from 6ft mini units up to 40ft high cubes, used containers sold as Wind & Watertight, container garages with sectional doors, and a range of portable buildings: site offices, cabins, ablution blocks and crib rooms.
Popular choices in Brisbane
The 20ft container is the workhorse for suburban Brisbane because it travels on a single rigid truck and fits behind most houses on a standard block. Buyers with more room, or a business address with a hardstand, tend to go straight to a 40ft high cube for the extra height and roughly double the floor area.
- New shipping containers in RAL colours, including double door and open side variants for workshop and retail use.
- Used shipping containers, inspected and sold Wind & Watertight, for storage where cosmetic marks do not matter.
- Portable offices, insulated and pre-wired, for construction sites and yard offices across the city.
- Ablution blocks and crib rooms for crews on civil, commercial and infrastructure jobs.
The full line-up, with sizes and current pricing, is on our range page.
Site access in Brisbane
Brisbane is a city of contrasts for a delivery driver. Older inner suburbs have narrow streets, on-street parking and Queenslanders on sloping blocks with the house set forward and the yard behind it. Newer estates on the outskirts have wider roads but shorter driveways and tightly spaced houses. Industrial precincts near the port and along the major corridors usually have hardstand and turning room, which makes them the easiest addresses on our run sheet.
Three scenarios we see often
- Backyard on a sloping suburban block. A tilt tray needs a straight reverse run and a reasonably level landing. If the driveway climbs or the yard drops away, a Hiab placement or a prepared pad may be the safer answer.
- Building site with street frontage only. The truck may need to reverse in from the road. Tell us if the street is busy so we can talk through traffic management before the day.
- Commercial yard or warehouse. Usually straightforward. Confirm gate width, overhead awnings and whether a forklift is available to help with placement.
Container and portable-building placement on residential land may need approval. Check with your local council before you order, and read our site access guide for the clearances each truck type needs.
How delivery works
Once your payment is confirmed, processing takes 1 to 3 business days. We allocate your unit, apply the colour configuration if you have chosen one, carry out a pre-delivery check and book transport. Delivery typically follows 4 to 7 business days after processing is complete, and we confirm a delivery window with you before the truck leaves the port.
The equipment is chosen to suit the unit and your site. Tilt trays handle most 20ft and smaller units, side loaders are the usual choice for 40ft containers, and a Hiab suits portable buildings and placements that need a little more precision. Full details are on our delivery page.

Brisbane questions
Can I come and look at a container before I buy?
Yes, by appointment at our Port Macquarie depot during business hours. Call or use the quote form to arrange a time.
Will a 20ft container fit in my Brisbane backyard?
Often, but the truck needs a straight run to the placement point and clearance overhead. Send us photos from where the truck would enter and we will tell you what is possible.
Do I need council approval to keep a container at home?
It depends on your property and how long the unit will stay. Check with your local council before ordering; we cannot advise on individual approvals.
How much is delivery to a Brisbane address?
AUD 745 per unit including GST within our standard service area. If your address needs confirmation we quote it in writing first.
What condition are the used containers in?
All used units are inspected and sold Wind & Watertight. Expect surface rust, dents and previous markings; the doors seal and the floor is sound.
