Containers for Toowoomba and the Darling Downs
AAD Logistics PTY delivers to Toowoomba and the surrounding Downs from our depot at the Port Macquarie. Every unit that heads west has to climb the range, and that crossing shapes what we recommend and how we book transport. We sell new containers in RAL colours from 6ft to 40ft high cube, used containers inspected and sold Wind & Watertight, container garages, and portable buildings: site offices, cabins, ablution blocks and crib rooms.
Toowoomba buyers are as likely to be running a farm or a civil crew as fitting out a suburban backyard. Grain and cattle properties buy for chemical and feed storage, fencing gear and machinery. Contractors on road, water and agricultural infrastructure jobs buy crib rooms and ablution blocks so crews have amenities wherever the work is. Townspeople buy 10ft and 20ft units for home storage and workshops.
Popular choices in Toowoomba
- Used Wind & Watertight containers. The rural favourite: a dry, vermin-resistant, lockable shed that arrives finished and needs no slab.
- New shipping containers. Chosen where the unit will be modified, painted to match sheds in a RAL colour, or placed where it is seen from the house.
- Portable offices. Insulated cabins for site management on civil and agricultural projects, and for farm offices away from the homestead.
- Crib rooms and ablution blocks, including units with toilet and shower, for crews working long days a long way from town.
Dimensions, door configurations and pricing for every unit are on the range page.
Site access in Toowoomba
Toowoomba itself is a spread-out regional city with level suburban blocks, established gardens and, in the older areas, mature trees that overhang driveways. Around it the Downs open into large rural properties with long driveways, gates, grids and paddock placements. The range crossing between the coast and the city is the practical consideration for larger units: a 40ft on a side loader is a different transport job from a 20ft on a tilt tray, and we confirm the route and equipment before quoting a 40ft delivery to the region.
Three scenarios we plan around
- Farm placement in a paddock or machinery yard. Usually straightforward when the ground is dry. Black soil after rain is a different matter; tell us about recent weather and any low points on the track in.
- Suburban block with overhanging trees. A tilt tray raises its tray steeply to unload. Branches that a ute passes under can stop a delivery. Walk the route and look up before you order.
- Civil site off a rural road. Confirm the entry width, the surface inside the site and whether a Hiab or your own crane will set down crib rooms and ablution units.
Approvals for containers and portable buildings vary between urban, rural-residential and farming land. Check with your local council before you order. Clearances, ground preparation and turning room are set out in our site access guide.
How delivery works
When your payment is confirmed, processing takes 1 to 3 business days. We allocate the unit, apply any colour configuration, run a pre-delivery check and book transport suited to the range crossing and your site. Delivery typically follows 4 to 7 business days after processing. We confirm a delivery window before the truck leaves the port.
Tilt trays handle most 20ft and smaller units. 40ft containers travel on a side loader or semi trailer, and we confirm access and equipment for those individually. Portable buildings are usually placed by Hiab. The delivery page covers each option.
Pricing and GST
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Delivery within our standard service area is AUD 745 per unit including GST. Toowoomba and Darling Downs addresses that need confirmation receive a written delivery quote before you commit. Toowoomba questions
Can you deliver a 40ft container over the range?
Yes, subject to route and site confirmation. We check the equipment and access for every 40ft delivery to the region and quote it in writing.
Is delivery to Toowoomba the standard AUD 745?
Addresses within our standard service area are AUD 745 per unit including GST. Others are confirmed by written quote before you pay.
Can a truck get into a paddock after rain?
Wet black soil can bog a loaded truck. A firm track, a gravel pad or a placement near the driveway is safer, and we can schedule around the weather.
Do you supply crib rooms with toilets for civil crews?
Yes. Our crib rooms and ablution blocks include configurations with toilet and shower, and are typically set down by Hiab on a prepared pad.
Do I need approval for a container on a farm?
Requirements differ between farming, rural-residential and urban land. Check with your local council before ordering.
Warranty, payment and inspection answers are on our FAQ page.
