Product overview
Heavyweight Capacity. Ultra-Low Profile. Certified for Extreme Loads.
The 20FT Platform Container is a specialised heavy-duty transport solution designed for oversised, irregular, or high-density cargo. With a payload capacity of 28,680 kg and a deck height of just 323.8 mm (12.75 inches), this container accommodates freight that exceeds the dimensional or weight limits of standard enclosed units.
Built from fully welded CORTEN steel, the platform is CSC certified for international intermodal transport. Its flush steel surface and ISO-standard twistlocks make it ideal for lifting, lashing, and staging industrial cargo across land and sea logistics networks.
Why it works on site
- 6 mm Steel Deck Plate
Delivers enhanced resistance to point loading and dynamic force transfer during crane lifts, container movements, or heavy freight placement. - Ultra-Low Platform Height
At just over 12 inches high, the platform allows tall cargo to remain within clearance limits, ideal for road, rail, or ocean compliance. - ISO-Aligned Corner Castings & Twistlocks
Designed to integrate seamlessly with intermodal handling systems, including flatbed trucks, railcars, and container ships. - CORTEN Steel Construction
Ensures long-term corrosion resistance, structural durability, and resistance to environmental fatigue, even in salt-heavy or humid deployments. - Stackable Design
Units can be securely stacked when empty, optimising yard or dockside space during staging and repositioning.
Typical applications
Oversized machinery transport
Carries heavy or irregular loads such as turbines, hydraulic lifts, excavators, transformers, and other industrial equipment unsuitable for enclosed containers.
Steel & foundry logistics
Facilitates secure movement of coils, billets, long pipe sections, I-beams, or dense metal components used in construction or manufacturing.
Modular infrastructure components
Ideal for HVAC modules, pre-assembled utility skids, industrial frames, or mechanical columns requiring open deck support during transit.
Cross-Mode heavy freight
Integrates with rail, road, and sea freight systems to provide consistent performance across transportation methods. Supports mixed-mode distribution for global supply chains.
Certification and inspection
- CSC Certified: Complies with international safety and handling standards for intermodal use
- Pre-Dispatch Inspection: Structural welds, twistlock placement, and deck integrity are verified before release
- Finish: Standard RAL 5013 paint with optional custom RAL codes available upon request
This container is ready for deployment in projects requiring serious load support, minimal clearance height, and global shipping compatibility.
Condition
Used – inspected. Expect honest signs of service such as dents, scratches, previous markings and surface rust; structural soundness is checked before dispatch. Ask for current photos of the actual unit with your quote.
Supply and compliance notes
- Certifications, inclusions, condition and measured dimensions are confirmed on the quotation and at pre-dispatch inspection.
- Confirm council, planning and building approval requirements for the intended site and use before ordering.
- Electrical, plumbing and drainage connections must be completed by appropriately licensed trades.
Customisation
Personnel doors, windows, electrical fit-outs, lighting, insulation, air conditioning, shelving, lockboxes, flooring, internal lining, partitions and plumbing can be specified through a quote. Tell us how the unit will be used and we will confirm what suits it.
Custom solutionsDelivery
Delivery is coordinated Australia-wide from the Port Macquarie. Processing takes 1–3 business days; delivery is typically 4–7 business days after processing. The standard charge is $745 per unit (incl. GST) within our standard service area and is shown at checkout once you enter your postcode. Remote, restricted-access, multi-unit and oversize deliveries are confirmed by quotation.
Tilt tray: A straight run behind the placement point (typically about 2.5× the container length plus the truck), firm level ground and clear overhead height. The most common option for 6ft–20ft units: the tray tilts and the container slides off onto the ground.
Side loader: Clear space along one side of the truck for the stabiliser legs and the two lifting cranes, and room to park parallel to the drop. Lifts the container off the chassis and sets it down beside the vehicle; the usual choice for 20ft and 40ft units.
Hiab / crane truck: Firm ground for the outriggers and a placement point within the crane's reach. Suits sites where the unit has to go over a fence or into a corner a tilt tray cannot reach; reach depends on the crane model and the unit weight.
Illustrative only. Figures are typical; we confirm the vehicle and access with you before dispatch.
Site access
Before delivery, check for a firm, level placement area, clear truck access and turning room, gate width, overhead power lines and trees, and soft ground after rain. A tilt tray typically needs a straight run behind the placement point; side loaders need clear space along one side. Our team confirms the right vehicle with you before dispatch.
Warranty
Pre-owned units carry a 6 months limited voluntary warranty from delivery covering structural integrity and weather tightness, excluding disclosed cosmetic wear. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited by this warranty. Warranty policy · Returns
Questions
Frequently asked about this unit
Is this container wind and watertight?
Used containers are inspected and sold as wind and watertight unless the listing says otherwise; specialised units such as platforms, flat racks and open tops are inspected for structural soundness rather than weather tightness. Ask us for current photos of the actual unit.
Do you deliver interstate?
Yes. Delivery is coordinated Australia-wide from Port Macquarie. Regional, remote and oversize deliveries are confirmed by quotation before you pay.
Is GST included?
Every price on the site is in Australian dollars and includes 10% GST. Your tax invoice itemises the GST component.
